Young’s Double Chocolate Stout

Saturday, February 1st, 2003

A while ago I tasted Young’s Double Chocolate Stout.

This was a very nice stout with a hint of coffee and chocolate. It was not as smooth as a Guinness, but instead it had a little bitter sting, that was very nice. :-)

You can find this beer at bolaget.

Riggwelter Strong Yorkshire Ale

Friday, December 27th, 2002

Yesterday I tried Riggwelter Strong Yorkshire Ale

It was a bitter ale with a bit of chocolate smell and taste.
It was very nice. I will drink more of it… :-)

Whisky tasting - 21 nov 2002

Friday, November 22nd, 2002

We tasted Auchentoshan, Macallan (sherry cask, I think it was called “Excellencia”), Laphroaig and Bowmore.

We thought that the Laphroaig was the best one, and that the others was almost equal. It was interesting that the Laphroaig made the Bowmore rather lame. When comparing it to Laphroaig you could only barely recognize the peaty smell.

Fuller’s London Porter

Monday, September 30th, 2002

This weekend I tried Fuller’s London Porter.

The color is very dark, just like a porter is supposed to be.

The taste was a nice surprice. It tasted more like a stout than a swedish porter.

You can find this nice beer at bolaget.

Delicato Family Vineyards Chardonnay 2000

Monday, September 30th, 2002

This weekend I tried “Delicato Family Vineyards Chardonnay 2000″

It was a nice californian styled (and not too expensive) chardonnay with a bit buttery taste. It was great with grilled salmon. :-)

Waiting for Mackmyra

Friday, August 16th, 2002

At the whisky exebition at the “Vin och Sprit Historiska Museet” in Stockholm, we got to smell the malt from the new swedish whisky “Mackmyra“. It smelled very nice, and a bit different than the scottish malts. This will be a very interesting Whisky.

Crozes-Hermitage

Sunday, June 16th, 2002

We had a Crozes-Hermitage 2001 from producer Moillard-Grivot.

This wine is from a district in the Rhone valley with the same name. From this valley the grapes are usually Syrah.

The wine tasted and smelled nicely. Together with the wine we had lamb with potato sallad, and the combination worked fine. :-)

(The wine gave me a black tounge, but not anyone else… strange…) :-P

You can find this wine at bolaget.

Rome

Tuesday, May 14th, 2002

After a week of golf in Rome, I now think that I might be able to defend my handicap this year…

Well, at least I won a bottle of Barolo. :-)

Tarapacá La Cuesta Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2000

Friday, February 8th, 2002

Yesterday I tasted Tarapacá La Cuesta Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2000

The wine is from Maipo/Chile
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah

When I opened the bottle I could smell the C.S. grapes without dipping my nose into it. The color was deep red/blue and it kept that color all the way to the edge of the glass. The wine tasted like a rich C.S. wine with a bit of roughness from the Syrah. Afterward my toungue was all blue… :-P

Yeah… I liked it. :-)

You can find this wine at at bolaget.

Guinness Foreign Extra Stout

Thursday, January 17th, 2002

Yesterday I had a Guinness Foreign Extra Stout.

This was a very nice dark beer that smelled of chocolate. It had a bit drier taste than I expected, but it was a very nice “roasted” taste with a hint of chocolate. :-)
